To the People of Columbus.
We are here.
Not coming. Not planning. Here. The NAACP Columbus Branch 3177 is very nearly ready to do business again.
For over a century this branch has fought for freedom in this city. That fight does not belong to the past. It belongs to right now. It belongs to us.
Today we operate.
We are ready to build collective power. We are ready to operationalize this branch from top to bottom. We are ready to work. And we intend to have a good time doing it.
This is Our Columbus Way.
Here is what we need from you.
Join.
Then bring someone with you. One member is a voice. Five hundred members is a presence officials cannot dismiss. Five thousand members is negotiating power at the tables where decisions get made. Fifteen thousand members is the dominant civil rights infrastructure in Central Ohio. That is not a dream. That is the trajectory.
It starts with your name on a membership.
Membership is not a transaction. It is a declaration. No one is turned away because of cost. Your voice matters more than your wallet.
Then find your lane. We run 22 standing committees doing real work on criminal justice, housing, education, economic development, health, political action, youth, and more. Tell us where you want to fight. Express your committee interest. We will put you to work.
How you give is up to you. Everyone has a role. Everyone has a seat. Everyone has a voice.
You will be hearing from us. Soon. Our first general body meeting is on the way. So is the word on our Executive Committee, our committees, and exactly how to plug in.
Get ready to make an impact.
The decisions being made right now about policing, housing, schools, and jobs will shape Black life in Columbus for decades.
In every one of those rooms, Black power will be present. Organized. Informed. Relentless.
We are operational. We are ready. The only question left is whether you are in.
What is understood does not have to be explained.
Join the movement.
